Day among the animals

Founded in 1950, the zoo in Nordhorn, Germany, is located directly on the Dutch border and is easily accessible. The park is home to around 1,700 animals of approximately 100 different species. You will find a wide variety of animals here, such as black-tailed prairie dogs, Central American agoutis, griffon vultures, seals, zebras and many more. Come and take a look.

Bison

The symbol of this zoo is the rare Forest Bison, which can be admired in this animal park. Even in zoos, it is rarely found. In total, Norhorn has a group of 6 forest bisons. One bull, two females, and three offspring.

Historic farm

In the middle of the zoo, you will find a 19th-century farm. Here you can see how the farmer lived at that time, which tools he used, and you will find the vegetable garden filled with all kinds of beautiful flowers and vegetables. On this farm, you can also visit various endangered domestic animal breeds.
