Take a break along the way in one of the mediaeval villages. One of the most famous hiking areas of the Ardennes is located near the town of La Roche-en-Ardenne. You walk along the river. Ourthe, through meadows and forests. You enter mediaeval villages with historic centres. Nassogne, near Saint-Hubert, is a good second. It has an extensive forest where you can take long-distance hikes. Along the way you can visit castle ruins and Gothic churches.

Largest caves and smallest town

The Ardennes has several attractions to tailor your hiking trip to. First of all, the famous Caves of Han, one of the largest cave complexes in Europe. You can even take an underground boat trip there. Or visit the waterfalls of Coo, the second highest in Belgium, where you can also take beautiful walks.
