Bike rides through the Ardennes

Discover nature, mountains, and calmness with Van der Valk

Due to the many mountains, cycling in the Ardennes is primarily a sporting challenge and ideal for mountain bikers. But there are also plenty of routes where recreational cyclists can enjoy the beautiful landscape. These so-called gravel routes are fairly flat and take you past picturesque spots, forests and streams for an unforgettable cycling trip.

Peace and quiet and gravel routes

The gravel routes of the Ardennes consist of specially constructed, car-free cycle paths along rivers and through forests. You can enjoy pure peace and quiet and the beauty of Walloon nature. It is possible to make trips from Liège to Namur. Or multi-day trips from Ciney to Landen. For the more athletic cyclists, there are mountain bike routes that seek out the differences in altitude of the landscape.

Caves and waterfalls

During your cycle tour through the Ardennes, you can stop off at various places of interest. Number 1 is, of course, the Caves of Han, where you can even take an underground boat trip. Visit the Coo waterfall, the second highest in Belgium, where you can also enjoy beautiful walks. Stroll through Durbuy, the smallest town in the world, with its medieval buildings and charming terraces. With cycle junctions, you can put together your own tours around these highlights of the Ardennes.
